Gestures are one of the non-verbal means of communication. We distinguish, among others, gestures shown only with hands.
Depending on the time, culture, region, individual gestures may mean something opposite or even something completely different than in another time, place or culture, or even a macro-region. Some gestures have been popularized through pop culture all over the world and replaced the meaning or supplanted other gestures or meanings.
The form of presenting these gestures in a mosaic, divided into "positive" or "negative", is only a suggestion that there can be positive or negative gestures - but even in the case of colors everything is conventional and depends on the context.
In some countries, black is a symbol of mourning, and in others means happiness.
Photography seems to be a natural medium to show the "negative" as something that negates or presents a different interpretation (not always negative).
As a form of presentation of this work, I chose sliding puzzles - the initial state is suggestively polarized into black and white squares. The recipient, through interaction with this composition, can change its meaning, and mixing the squares alternately will cause the perception of the "spot" of the whole as gray - that is, like in life not everything is black and white...

Gesty są jednym z niewerbalnych sposobów komunikacji. Wyróżniamy między innymi gesty pokazywane tylko dłońmi.
W zależności od czasu, kultury, regionu poszczególne gesty mogą znaczyć coś przeciwnego lub nawet coś całkiem innego niż w innym czasie, miejscu czy kulturze a nawet makroregionie. Niektóre gesty zostały spopularyzowane poprzez popkulturę na cały świat i zamieniły znaczenie lub też wyparły inne gesty lub znaczenia.
Forma prezentacji tych gestów w mozaikę, z podziałem na „poztyw” lub „negatyw” jest tylko sugestią, że mogą być gesty pozytywne lub negatywne – ale nawet w przypadku barw wszystko jest umowne i zależne od kontekstu. W niektórych krajach barwa czarna jest symbolem żałoby a w niektórych wręcz przeciwnie.
Fotografia wydaje się naturalnym medium do ukazania „negatywu” jako czegoś co neguje lub przedstawia inną interpretację (nie zawsze negatywnego).
Jako formę prezentacji tej pracy wybrałem przesuwane puzzle – stan inicjujący jest sugestywnie spolaryzowany na czarne i białe kwadraty. Odbiorca poprzez interakcje z tą kompozycją może zmienić jej znaczenie, a zmieszanie kwadratów na przemian spowoduje odbiór „plamy” całości jako szarość – czyli jak w życiu nie wszystko jest do końca czarno białe…
